Taresso Artisan Coffee Roasters is one of the leading specialty coffee companies in Greece.

We offer to our customers premium coffee products and equipment with the expectation of inspiring and introducing more and more people to the world of Specialty coffee. All our products are characterized by a designation of origin and we provide as much information as possible about them. We surround them with top equipment such as Chemex products, Victoria Arduino machines, Rocket Milano and professional Synesso machines. For all three of these brands we are the exclusive representatives in Greece.

Our company operates with a state-of-the-art production facility in Corinth, storage and office facilities in Athens and through a large network of agents.

The history of coffee began in Ethiopia, where coffee arabica (Coffea arabica) grew as a bush. Initially the fruit was used whole by the local populations, who either chewed it or ground it into small lumps. The earliest reliable reference to coffee consumption or knowledge of coffee trees appears in the mid-15th century, in the Sufi monasteries of Yemen.

The origin of coffee and the discovery of its properties also gave rise to several myths. The most important is known as the legend of the dancing goat and attributes the discovery of the properties of coffee to an Ethiopian shepherd. Kaldi noticed that when his animals ate the fruits of the coffee plant during the day they became more active, while at night they had difficulty to sleep.

At Taresso Artisan Coffee Roasters, our goal is to make our coffee an unforgettable experience for the consumer, transforming the act of preparing and enjoying our coffee into a ritual.

To achieve this, we collaborate with top cooperatives and estates around the world, sampling many coffees until we find the ones we select and recommend to you. We exclusively choose coffees from the Specialty and Cup of Excellence categories, ensuring we maintain minimal stock to always deliver freshly roasted coffee.

Cultivation

From the origin of the coffee and its processing method to the details of the farmer who produces it, we gather all the necessary information for processing our coffee, always ensuring we know the methods used by the farms we select. Because, ultimately, it is these people—the producers—who are at the heart of what we call exceptional coffee.

Harvest

We place a strong emphasis on the origin of the coffee, talking with the farmers, asking them about the quality of this year’s harvest, the methods they used for picking the coffee cherries, and how they packaged and stored their coffee. Through a rigorous tasting process, we sample the coffees and select only those that meet the high standards we have set.

Roasting

We import the coffee and store it under ideal conditions. Every day, all day, there is always someone standing by the roaster, knowing the perfect roasting profile for each variety. After such a long journey, we consider it our duty to offer our coffee with the freshest possible roasting date.
